About Our Governors

Laura Thomas

I joined the Governors team in 2019. I have worked in education for over 12 years and currently lead a PE team in a Gravesham secondary school. I have a passion for students engagement in physical activity and also mental wellbeing, as part of the education offer to young people. I enjoy working as part of the team at Lawn Primary and am excited for the future of the school.

Michelle Sayers

I enjoy supporting children and young adolescents in the community, during school holidays, through an organisation called Confident Children - Genny Jones.

I have worked at Lawn Primary School, for five years, in different year groups. I am currently working in year 4.

I enjoy a variety of different roles - Higher Level Teaching Assistant; PPA cover for lower KS2 and Intervention Support for different year groups.

I have a passion for scaffolding pupils and giving them the opportunity to express and follow their own learning journey. I encourage the children to do their best at all levels.

Two of my own children are/have been Lawn pupils.

Pat Williams

I am a long-standing member of staff at Lawn Primary School, and been employed here since 2002, having previously worked in other local Primary Schools since 1995.

My role as Welfare Manager and DSL is both challenging and rewarding, every day is different, but I love the relationships I have built with my families.

I also represent the School as a Staff /SEN Governor. SEN has always been my particular area of interest, having seen many changes over the years, I remain passionate about supporting this area of School life.

It is a privilege to be part of an amazing school as an employee and Governor and look forward to continuing to see the school moving forward with new innovations.

Staff Governor/SEN Governor

Helen Moss

I have been teaching for 14 years, just over 10 of which were at Lawn. I was a class teacher at first, then trained to be the SENCO, followed by training in Thrive and becoming the Thrive Manager. I worked directly with the children, supporting them with their emotional, social and well-being needs. I feel passionately that children need to feel happy, safe and believe in themselves, in order to engage with their learning and work to their full potential. I became a Staff Governor in 2020 and ensure this is happening throughout the school.

My hobbies include dancing, eating out, watching films, photography and walking in nature.
