Arrangements from September 2021

31 August 2021 (by Yvette Bull (ybull))

Dear Parents and carers,

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer holiday with your children.  We are looking forward to welcoming you all back on Thursday 2nd September.  I am pleased to be able to confirm the arrangements for school from the start of the Autumn term.

Start and Finish Times

We will operate a 10-minute ‘soft start’ to each day, which means the gates and classroom doors will open at 8:45am.  All children can arrive anytime between 8:45am and 8:55am.  All children must arrive and be in their classroom by 8:55am.

The school day will finish at 3:15pm for all children.

Nursery AM session times – 8:55 to 11:55

Nursery PM session times – 12:15 to 3:15

Routes on and off the school site

We will continue to use all three gates in September but will not be using the one-way system.  The one-way system will only be put in place if we are advised to do so in line with Government Guidance.

Parents/carers with pushchairs please use the top gate or the nursery/reception gate to avoid steps.  The through route that used to be used is no longer in use.

Lunchtimes

We have decided to continue with the system we used when we had bubbles as lunchtimes were a much calmer and happy time.  Please note that if your child is now in Year 3, you will be charged for the meals your child has, unless eligible for free school meals.  Please ask at the office if you think you are eligible.  The latest menus can be found on our website: www.lawnprimary.co.uk/virtual-office/school-lunches/menus.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club will continue to be in the hall from 8am each morning.  To access the Breakfast Club, please continue to come through the office.

Any parent needing a place in Breakfast Club must contact Mrs Bull by emailing ybull@lawnprimary.co.uk and then pay through the School Gateway.

The cost of Breakfast Club is £1.50 per day.

After School Club

We are pleased to be able to offer a range of After School Clubs.  Clubs finish at 4:15pm and the details of After School Clubs will be sent in a separate message.

If parents or carers are studying or working children can stay at school until 5pm for wrap around provision.  Children will be offered a snack and drinks and will be able to do homework, read a book, play a game etc. in a calm atmosphere.

The cost of After School Clubs is £2.00 per child, per club – 3:15 to 4:15pm

The cost of After School Club and Wrap Around Provision is £5.00 per child per day – 3:15 to 5:00pm

Parents collect their children from outside the office at the end of the club. It is important that you arrive on time to collect your child as lateness will be charged at £5.

Uniform including PE uniform

The school’s uniform will remain the same.  We have decided to keep the same plan for PE, so children will wear their PE kit to school on the day they have PE.  Your child’s class teacher will let you know which day this is on.  Please ensure children are suitably dressed for the weather.

Bubbles and self-isolation

There is no longer a need to self-isolate as a close contact if you have been double vaccinated.  Children also do not need to isolate due to contact at that point, this means that we should not have to close ‘bubbles’ if there is a positive case of Covid-19.  People who are positive with Covid-19 will still need to isolate but this will not affect the rest of the children.  This means we no longer need to keep the children in consistent groups, known as bubbles.

Hand Hygiene

We will continue to ask children to wash their hands regularly and will continue to provide hand sanitiser; the children and staff have got into really good habits with this, so we want to continue this into the winter months to reduce the risk of more viruses spreading.

Face Coverings

Staff, parents and carers, will no longer be required to wear a face covering on site.

I hope that this information clarifies the arrangements for the start of the new academic year.  All arrangements in this letter are potentially subject to change should the local area see a rise in cases; we might be asked to go back to the previous ‘bubbles’ arrangements and timings for school for a short period of time.  We really hope this isn’t the case, but we would be able to respond quickly to that situation if it arises.

We are very excited at the prospect of some normality this term.

Your sincerely

Angela Wilson
