The school was the first Board School built in Northfleet. Lawn School opened on 18th October 1886 and was extended in 1893 which also included a clocktower.

The clocktower was badly damaged in the storms of 1987 and had to be demolished. The school still has one of the original three bells which also reflect our school logo.
