As a school, we are receiving daily updates from the government on school specific advice and I would like to
provide you with an update on the steps the school is taking with regard to the developing nationwide situation concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Currently, the country has moved into the ‘Delaying’ phase and I wanted to update you on the actions the school has already taken and the preparations we have made should a school closure be necessary.
· Special assemblies and circle times have regularly taken place to ensure the children know how to wash their hands correctly
· Disposable tissues are freely available in all areas of the school
· Deep cleaning of surfaces is in place as a preventative measure for any virus
· Child friendly hand washing and hand drying notices are displayed in the toilets
These steps are in line with the advice issued by Public Health England. (PHE)
Staff at the school have been fully informed as to the steps that need to be taken should a suspected case of COVID-19 be reported. I would like to emphasise that at this point, no suspected cases have been reported in school and government advice is to continue as usual. However, in the event that the school has to close, staff have prepared work that will be sent home for the children to complete.
Please note that if you choose not to send your child to school and go into self-isolation even though PHE has not placed the school under any restrictions or advised us to close, the absence will be marked as unauthorised.
Should you require any further information, current government advice can be found by following the link below:
The school will continue checking daily updates from the government and will advise you should there be a change to current advice.
