This term in Art, Cedar Class have been learning about the artist Wassily Kandinsky. They have been experimenting with their own drawings using the artist’s style. Here is some of the children’s work which we are all very proud of.
Welcome back Cedar class, we hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to get back to all the wonderful things we are going to learn this term. I would like to remind you that this term beginning Monday 10th January our PE is Tennis, which, weather permitting will be taught outside. Therefore, can I ask that your child has appropriate outdoor trainers and warm PE clothes, such as a tracksuit or jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt if possible.
We will continue to send homework home on a Friday along with the children’s weekly spellings. This should come back into class by Thursday of the following week at the very latest.
Please continue to listen to your child read as this is paramount to everything they do in school.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year.
This term in Art Cedar class have been learning to mix primary colours to make secondary colours and they have created their own rainbows using their mixing techniques.
This term in History, Cedar Class have been learning about World War 1. We have been focussing on Remembrance Day and the significance of the poppy. Cedar class took part in the two minute silence in school and understood why we do this. The children have worked hard and created their own pictures of the poppies that appeared on the battlefields once the war had ended. They used tissue paper to make the poppies 3D and stuck them on their pictures.
